Past
It was the stadium that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in Athens at 1896 but it has a history stretching back long before the 3rd century b.c

Recent
During the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 some sport events took place and the stadium has been the ending point of the Marathon. For this reason the stadium received much attention and was refurbished. The stadium can host up to 65.000 guests

Nowadays
Panathinaikon Stadium is one of the most important sightseeing points of Athens. It is located in the heart of the city of Athens, on Vasileos Konstantinou avenue, under the shadow of Arditos hill and next to the National Gardens and Zappion.
